Marco Marcoaldi
Born in 1981 in the Marche region, I've been exploring the world of computers and the Internet since 1994, when I used a 28.8 analog modem. I've been using a PC since Windows 3.11 and discovered Linux in 1996 with Red Hat Linux 4 "Colgate," distributed on CD-ROM with DEV magazine. After graduating in Electronics and Telecommunications in 2000, I continued my studies in Information Technology at the University of Camerino. Between 2003 and 2005, I took my first steps as a Linux systems administrator at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, then the "Carla Lodovici" Computer Science Department. Since 2005, I've been working steadily as a GNU/Linux systems administrator. I'm the founder and majority shareholder of Managed Server Srl, a company specializing in hosting, Linux systems engineering, and web performance optimization. I work with BSD, Linux, and UNIX systems, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance of leading CMS and e-commerce platforms, including WordPress, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, and Magento. I have extensive experience in advanced DBMS applications such as MySQL, Percona Server, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL, as well as integrating NoSQL solutions. I use enterprise file systems such as ZFS and OpenZFS to design robust, high-performance, and business continuity-oriented infrastructures. Since 2024, I have embraced new AI and Large Language Model technologies, both proprietary and Open Weight, integrating them into both my daily workflow and the implementation of new application features for our clients.
